Lucas Petroni, University of São Paulo

Lucas Petroni studied philosophy and political science at the University of São Paulo, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Political Theory. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at The Brazilian Center of Analysis and Planning (Cebrap) and an associate researcher of The Centre for Ethics, Politics and Society, at the University of Minho. He has been a Visiting Assistant in Research in the Department of Philosophy at Yale. His Ph.D. thesis, The Morality of Equality: Egalitarianism and Deliberative Respect, is an attempt to bring together claims for egalitarian justice and the second-person standpoint morality. His main research interests are: theories of justice, inequality, poverty, moral justification and the philosophy of John Rawls. He will be a teaching fellow for the Methods and Problems in Political Philosophy in 2019.
